Consultation feedback on "Vanuatu National Policy on Climate Change and Disaster-Induced Displacement"

The Vanuatu National Policy on Climate Change and Disaster-Induced Displacement is currently being reviewed in by IOM, and in close coordination with the Ministry of Climate Change through the NAB Secretariat. The Displacement policy was first developed and launched in 2018, after 6 years of implementation. It is timely that the policy undergoes a review and be updated into its second edition.

Moreso, the process towards reviewing the displacement policy has kick-started in 2025 and is currently reaching its final stages. A stakeholder consultation has been conducted last year - 2025 that has coherently informed the current revised draft version. Furthermore, the current review also includes the development of the displacement policy implementation plan that seeks to strategically guide the implementation of the policy within the next 4 years into 2030. Therefore, the current revised draft also contains its implementation plan.

As part of the final stages of consultations, the NAB Secretariat has facilitated for the document to be uploaded onto the ministry's website along with the feedback form in order for the public as well as key stakeholders may have the final review of the document; provide comments, and feedback before the policy is validated and endorsed through the NAB.
