Welcome!

Welcome to the website of the Ministry of Climate Change Adaptation, Meteorology and Geo-Hazards, Energy, Environment and National Disaster Management!

This Ministry was created in 2014 with the intent of strategically aligning Departments responsible for the response to natural disasters and sustainable development of the environment.

Despite being the youngest Ministry, much have been achieved since then.

I am excited to have you on board as we journey and continue to build together to fulfill our vision of promoting a resilient, sustainable, safe and informed Vanuatu.

This is based on a mission of developing sound policies and legislative frameworks and providing timely, reliable scientific information for service delivery to enable resilient communities, maintain a sustainable environment and engage in economic development as outlined by the National Sustainable Development Plan (NSDP) or The People’s Plan.

Hon. Silas Bule Melve
Minister of Climate Change Adaptation, Meteorology and Geo-Hazards, Energy, Environment and Disaster Management
